Actor Jesse Eisenberg made a surprising revelation during his recent appearance on NBC’s “Today” show, leaving audiences astonished. While being praised by co-anchor Craig Melvin for his previous involvement in blood donation events, including one at the “Today” studio, Eisenberg casually announced his intention to go a step further in his generosity. “Yeah, that’s true,” he confirmed. “I’m actually donating my kidney in six weeks. I really am.”
The hosts reacted with disbelief as Eisenberg continued, smiling and mentioning, “I don’t know why. I got bitten by the blood donation bug. Yeah, I love it.” He elaborated that his upcoming procedure, set for mid-December, is an “altruistic donation,” indicating that he will be giving his kidney to a complete stranger. “I’m so excited to do it,” he expressed.
In a subsequent interview, Eisenberg revealed that he had initially considered kidney donation almost ten years ago but did not receive a response from the organization he had reached out to at the time. “It’s essentially a safe procedure and a much-needed one,” Eisenberg emphasized. “I believe that once people grasp that, they will find it to be an easy decision to make if they have the time and willingness.”
