Bangladesh’s cricketer Nurul Hasan Sohan, who plays as a wicketkeeper and batter, had to be taken to a nearby hospital for an X-ray due to twisting his ankle in the third and final T20I match against the West Indies at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram on Friday. Meanwhile, fast bowler Shoriful Islam also suffered a right hamstring injury during the same game and is set to undergo an MRI soon.
According to Rabeed Imam, the senior media manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Sohan experienced a twist in his right ankle and was promptly transported to a nearby medical facility. Shoriful, on the other hand, endured a strain in his right hamstring. His condition is currently being assessed, and an MRI scan will be conducted tomorrow to gauge the severity of the injury.
Sohan had to be carried off on a stretcher during the 11th over of the West Indies’ innings after displaying clear discomfort in his right leg. The team’s physiotherapist provided initial treatment on the field before Sohan was taken for further medical examination. Shoriful, who bowled two overs conceding 12 runs, will be under close observation by the medical staff as he progresses through his recovery.
