Nine-day National Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) products fair kicks off in the city tomorrow.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the fair at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh.
The SME Foundation is organizing the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), said Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at a press conference at SME Foundation auditorium in the capital yesterday.
The minister said a total of 296 SME entrepreneurs would showcase their products at 309 stalls. Products such as jute goods, agriculture, food and leather products, electronic and electrical items will be showcased at the fair venue.
Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim and SME Foundation Managing Director Md Shafiqul Islam were also present at the press conference.
Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said this year five best SME entrepreneurs would be awarded. Each businessperson will get Tk1 lakh and a crest.
To promote the SME entrepreneurs and SME products, the foundation will arrange six seminars. The fair will remain open to all from 10:00am to 8:00pm. There will be no entry fee.
