Sri Lankan Airlines completes one year in Bangladesh

Daily Dhaka Times: Sri Lankan Airlines completed first year of its operations in Bangladesh. Officials of the national carrier of Sri Lanka celebrated the maiden anniversary by cutting cake at a function at its Dhaka Office in Banani area recently, said a news release on Monday.

Sri Lankan Airlines Country Manager Shermal Perera, Bangladesh General Sales Agent (GSA) Chairman Mahbubul Anam, Managing Director Md. Mizanur Rahman and General Manager Aruna Ratnayake were, among others, present on the occasion.

Representatives from different travel agency, airlines and well-wishers appreciated the officials for completing first year of operations in Bangladesh. Recently, United Kingdom-based travel recognition ‘World Travel Awards’ accorded airline with the ‘World’s Leading Airline to the Indian Ocean’ title.

The airline operates daily flight between Dhaka and Colombo as departs Dhaka on 01:00 PM every day and arrives here on 11.30 AM after departing Colombo on 07.45 AM every morning.

It’s should be mentioned that the airline, started flying in 1979, has been operating direct flights to 103 destinations of 48 countries. To know detail, log on :
