Officextracts, the distribution company for Kaspersky Lab in Bangladesh and Bhutan has launched a localised Kaspersky application for Android devices. This app has been developed by Officextracts.
Prabeer Sarkar, chief executive officer of Officextract said the app is launched to provide after-sell service more effectively.
“We developed this Android app because of its popularity,” Sarkar said. He also said that they will launch iOs app for iPhone. The Android app named ‘Officextracts’ is available at Google Playstore.
About the app Sarkar said with the app, users can learn about Kaspersky products. Users can also locate and call resellers easily. The app also allows contacting Officextracts for retail support via SMS email or phone call.
Users can also talk to company’s sales team. To make it interesting and fun the app can take a user to its facebook page. The app also has Kasersky news. And treat post where users will find Kaspersky’s analysis and updates about virus threats.
“The app will make it easy for the Kaspersky users to reach us. To my knowledge there is no other app of this kind by any distributor in the world. “India and Malaysia have already shown interested in the app,” said Sarkar.
Sarker said Kaspersky has also agreed to set up a local server. The idea has come up after monitoring downloads of virus updates from Officextracts website.
Sarkar said they have 70,000-80,000 downloads from the website. “We realised Bandwidth is a big concern when downloading the updates.”
“Kaspersky Lab detects 2lakh viruses every day. You have to update your Kaspersky product to protect your computer.”
“We then thought how to get local support with minimised bandwidth cost and how clients can reach us more easily.”
With this local server, users will be able to download the updates faster. It will go live within one month.
This is a major leap in Bangladesh. This kind of support service has never been issued by any software company in Bangladesh.
