By 2015, the company has an ambition to connect minimum 30 important locations in the country under its’ WiFi umbrella.
Initially, it will be a pilot project, and only Grameenphone customers will get access to the service at free of cost for the first 3 months.
This effort is part of Grameenphone’s ‘Internet for All’ ambition where it aims to bring more and more people under the light of internet.
To provide best customer experience, Grameenphone has also spanned it’s network all over the country and this expansion of its’ 3G network in the countrywide is moving at a rapid pace.
It is using this strong network as the basis for all the attractive internet offers.
In the Wi-Fi hotspots, Grameenphone customers will see a Wi-Fi SSID named “GP WiFi” in the Wi-Fi option on their devices.
after connecting to the GP WiFi SSID customers need to register with their GP number, this generates an SMS to customers number which enable them to enjoy free WiFi Service.
Aamra Networks, one of the largest ISPs in Bangladesh will provide technical support to GP in this great initiative.
Grameenphone’s ‘Internet for All’ ambition will be one step closer to its’ fulfillment with this initiative.
