Access to finance for the technology-based enterprises which known as start-up is a must for industry growth, BASIS Director Delwar Hossain Faruk said.

BASIS or Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services will host biennial election ( session 2018-20) on March 31. Some 40 candidates are contesting for nine positions in three panels.

The young tech entrepreneurs want to stand beside the start-up and work for access to finance for them to promote innovations.

“There are different funds for start-ups in public and private sector. We know about the EF or Entrepreneurial Fund of the government. I have worked with member companies as role in chair of Members’ Welfare Standing Committee of the trade body,” Faruk added.

He said, the organization has agreements with different financial institutions including Shahjalal Islami Bank which pave the way to issue maximum Tk 10 lakh funds for start-ups without any security money.

“The talent and innovation of our youth is remarkable. They can go a long way if they get a joint collaboration. Startup Bangladesh initiative has already been taken to develop a startup culture in the country,”

Similarly, the ITS sector can also be mentioned. And these three potential sectors are the organizations representing BASIS.

As a result, it may be possible to work in the development of this industry if desired target. I have been taking part in the BASIS elections for this goal. About 14 years in the field of information technology.
