Daily Dhaka Times : The government employees will enjoy six-day Eid holiday from September 9 to 14 as September 11 has been included in the vacation. The staff will perform their duties of September 11 on September 24.
Eid-al-Azha will be celebrated across the country on September 13 following the Zilhaj moon sighting. Earlier, government employees demanded to announce holiday on September 11 and 15.
Public administration ministry published a notification of the executive order on Monday (September 5).
Considering the demand, the ministry sent an abstract to prime ministry office (PMO) seeking approval of altering office duties of September 11 and 15 on September 17 and 24.
PM Sheikh Hasina discussed the matter at a cabinet meeting at secretariat in city.
After the meeting, cabinet secretary Mohammad Safiul Alam told media that the demand of additional two days for Eid vacation was discussed at the meeting. Finally, one day holiday was accepted instead of two days, he added.
