Bangladesh qualified AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017

foot-womenDaily Dhaka Times : Bangladesh qualified for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017 beating Chinese Taipei by 4-2 goals in their group C encounter held on Saturday at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
In the 11th minute of the match, Taipei took the lead as their captain Su Yu Hsuan shot from the top of the box hit the middle of net (1-0).
 
Bangladesh equalized the margin from a penalty later in the 28th minute. Defender Shamsunnahar made no mistake to convert the spot kick (1-1).
 
Bangladesh got another penalty in the 37th minute when Krishna Rani had again been fouled in the box by Taipei skipper Su Yu Hsuan. Shamsunnahar utilized the opportunity (2-1).
Bangladesh skipper Krishna Rani fired a blasting left footer into the middle of the net from the box in the 56th minute (3-1).
 
Marzia scored the fourth goal (4-1) for Bangladesh in the 78th minute with a placing shot capitalizing on a corner from Sanjida Khatun at the left wing. Wu You Jou, however, reduced the margin for Chinese Taipei in the 88th minute (4-2).
When the Bangladesh men’s football team are going through one of their worst times in history, a group of young girls are lifting the image of the country’s football in the international arena through eye-catching performances.

Since September last year, in different Fifa/Afc tournaments and qualifiers, Bangladesh men’s team conceded eight defeats in as many attempts, leaking 44 goals, and scoring none.

The girls, in contrast, have won all of their eight matches, scoring 35 goals, shipping only two and winning two historic titles.football2-

They scored three against Iran, five against Singapore and 10 against Kyrgyzstan in the ongoing AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017 Qualifiers and are improving significantly with each passing game.
